The single most important quality that you can ever develop is the quality of integrity. It is the key to a successful and happy life. Integrity is the core quality of the superior human being and your commitment to becoming a totally honest person will do more to assure your happiness than anything else you can ever do.
Integrity is a value, like persistence, courage, and industriousness. Even more than that, it is the value that guarantees all your other values. You are a good human being to the degree to which you live your life consistent with the highest values that you espouse. Integrity is the quality that locks in and causes you to live consistent with them.
A person having integrity is a person of high and unblemished character, in every respect in every situation. Integrity is the foundation of character. The development of character is one of the most important things you can do. Working on your character means disciplining yourself to do more and more of those things that a totally honest person would do, under all circumstances.
To be totally honest with others, you must first be totally honest with yourself. You must be true to yourself. You must be true to the very best that is in you, to be the very best that you know how. Only a person that is living consistent with the highest values is really living a life of integrity. When you commit to living this kind of life you will find yourself continually raising your own standards, continually redefining the true definition of integrity and honesty.
The Law of Attraction says that you inevitably attract into your life the people and circumstances that are in harmony with your dominant thoughts and values. This means that everything in your life you have attracted is because of the person you are.
The number one quality of leadership is integrity. Integrity in leadership is expressed in terms of constancy and consistency. It is manifested in an absolute devotion to keeping your word. The glue that holds all relationships together is trust and trust is based on integrity.
You need to demonstrate integrity in every area of your life through your actions. When you listen to your intuition and do what you know to be right in every area of your life, you will have a sense of peace and satisfaction that will connect you with your higher self.
Being true to yourself means living in truth with every person in your life. It means refusing to say something that you don’t honestly feel or do something that you don’t believe is right. Living in truth with other people means that you refuse to stay in any situation where you feel unhappy because of the personality or behavior of another person; witness them, notice and love their spirit but that doesn’t mean you have to tolerate their personality.
Most stress and negativity comes from attempting to live in a way that is not congruent with your spirit. It is when your life is not in alignment that you feel most unhappy. It is when you are doing and saying one thing on the outside but really feeling and believing something different on the inside.
Your word is who you are. Without it you really have nothing. This is why living with integrity above all else means keeping your promises and commitments not only to others but to yourself as well. Always keep your word. Be a man or a woman of honor. If you say that you will do something, then, do it. If you make a promise, keep it. If you make a commitment, fulfill it.
Remember there is no such thing as a “little white lie,” everything counts. Your spirit guides and the universe will always support you as long as they know you are serious but if you are not living your life with integrity they won’t take you seriously and help you.
When you live your life with integrity, when you always keep your word and show up for things even if you don’t want to, your spirit guides will show up too. That is the value of integrity.
